Spectral, Linear and Nonlinear Stability of Coherent Structures |

Introduction:
The goal of this session is to get together researchers that study stability of special solutions of nonlinear PDEs from diverse points of view. Spectral and linear stability will be investigated for periodic waves and ground state solutions of a variety of equations. Several nonlinear stability results will be presented, including the nonlinear stability of semi-discrete shocks and the interaction manifolds for the planar reaction diffusion systems. Using an array of different methods and techniques to predict the long time behavior of special solutions of equations of mathematical physics will be the unifying idea. |
