Special Session 36
Reaction Diffusion Systems
Organizer(s):
Julian Lopez-Gomez
Introduction:
Reaction Diffusion Systems are imperative in modeling a great variety of natural phenomena in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Engineering, as well as in Economics, where they are used to evaluate stock options in the context of the theory of Black-Scholes and Merton. Their significance not only relies on the huge number of their applications but also on the fact that they provide with a rather general class of linear and nonlinear differential operators whose mathematical analysis has shown to be a milestone for the development of applied, abstract and numerical Analysis, Algebra, Geometry and Topology. This session will cover a wide range of aspects around Reaction Diffusion Systems by some of the most relevant experts in this field.
