Analysis, Optimization and Control of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equation Evolution Systems

Introduction:
The goal of the Session is to bring together specialists who, owing to their respective fields of study, might not otherwise have occasion to meet and exchange ideas and points of view. To this end, the discussions will include the development of high-minded PDE techniques and tools for the following (ostensibly disparate) classes of problems: (i) Qualitative and quantitative properties enjoyed by solutions to nonlinear wave equations; e.g., global existence, uniqueness, finite time blow-up, and asymptotic behavior of solutions; (ii) the study of PDE dynamics under the influence of feedback or open loop control, with a view towards obtaining stabilization, controllability or precise information of asymptotic behavior, for said dynamics.
